First, a good news: Binance has recently updated its risk control mechanism. In the past, once an account was risk controlled, all kinds of benefit activities (such as airdrops, TGE, etc.) could not be participated in. Now, Alpha benefits are distinguished from other regular benefits, and some accounts that were previously risk controlled have been automatically unblocked without any actions (see case in image one).
If you have been subject to risk control before, you can now detect and verify through new methods. In most cases, there is no need to go through a complicated appeal process, and the success rate is higher.
1. How to determine if it is Binance Alpha risk control?
Current risk control is divided into two categories: Alpha related risk control and other risk control. The identification methods are as follows:
① How to determine if you are subject to Alpha risk control?
Enter the [Alpha Activity] page → Click [Points Page]. If the system prompts "Cannot participate in the activity" and the [Appeal] button appears, it indicates that your account has triggered risk control related to Alpha benefits, including airdrops, TGE, point redemption, etc., and you will not be able to claim them.
📌 Actual case: An account that was just risk controlled yesterday morning showed automatic unblocking that night, indicating that the system risk control has an "automatic lift limit" mechanism after updates.
② The daily check-in function can still be used to assist in judgment, but it has significant limitations.
In the past, people often used [Daily Check-in Success] to judge account status, but this method can only detect general risk control and cannot determine if it is "Alpha risk control". Therefore, it is recommended that you make further judgments using the method in ①.
2. Appeal process (applicable to accounts that have not yet been unblocked)
Although multiple accounts have gradually returned to normal, some users in the community still need to appeal. The following is the standard process:
① Preparation tools:
Accounts that have passed KYC
A computer with a camera
Screenshot: Including prompts showing inability to claim Alpha benefits and points page
② Specific process:
Enter the [Alpha Activity section], after the pop-up indicates that rewards cannot be claimed and the [Appeal] button appears, you need to click the [Appeal] button, and then it will prompt the [Face Recognition] verification. After verification, you will enter the formal application process:
(1) Submit a photo of the bound device information
- Device operating system version
- Device brand
- Device model
- Browser name/version
(2) Submit a video of the recharge record
Please find any Binance recharge record from three months ago. If you did not recharge three months ago - log into the corresponding platform (not Binance) - find and display the corresponding withdrawal record details (full TxID, date, amount) and confirm that they match the Binance recharge record.
This part requires recording a video. You can prepare everything first before recording, otherwise, the process of entering the password will also be recorded. They only look at which hash, but here the [person's face] must appear on the screen, which requires the use of a camera. If you don’t know how, you can comment, and I’ll share specifically.
(3) Declaration video
1. A selfie of the page containing your valid ID information.
2. Please clearly state the following: "Today is YYYY year MM month DD day, I confirm this is me operating. I am contacting Binance regarding my account [email protected] issue."
⚠️ This step may feel a bit "invasive to privacy", so it is recommended to communicate with the account holder in advance to avoid issues with timely cooperation. It’s best for those maintaining accounts to first read my previous tweets and be careful not to trigger risk control. https://x.com/Wayne13yao/status/1921423044121387370
(4) Please upload a picture of the error message and any materials related to the activity.
This section can submit screenshots of interactions that you just captured, so customer service can see where you had activities.
It is strongly recommended to apply for all daily check-ins, as this can basically lift the overall risk control and avoid future troubles.
(5) Supplementary information
This section requires you to fill in the link (URL) of the specific activity page you participated in.
You can submit links for Alpha, check-in, and financial management from the web.
Complete the above five steps to submit a good appeal, and then wait for notification. Generally, they will send you an email, as the previous risk control took 3-7 business days.
The upgrade of Binance's risk control mechanism actually releases many positive signals. For users who were previously unable to participate in Alpha benefits, the new classification of risk control and simplified appeal path provides the possibility of "self-unblocking".
If you encounter any issues during detection or appeal, feel free to leave a comment. I will continue to compile tested experiences to share with everyone. Don’t forget to like, forward, and bookmark this tutorial for future reference!
