$BTC Binance Exchange is Being Sued for $13.3 Billion Over Bitcoin SV Delisting

Binance Exchange is being sued for $13.3 billion over the delisting of the cryptocurrency Bitcoin SV (BSV), which emerged as a result of the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) hard fork in November 2018.

Binance removed Bitcoin SV from its platform in April 2019, citing that the digital asset did not meet requirements due to the actions of its creator Craig Wright, who proclaimed himself Satoshi Nakamoto. The founder of the trading platform, Changpeng Zhao, warned of the delisting of BSV if Wright continued to spread false information that he invented BTC; however, Craig did not heed the warnings, and the coin was rejected. After the removal of Bitcoin SV, a group of disgruntled British investors filed a lawsuit against Binance. The exchange was accused of causing traders to miss out on profits due to the delisting of the cryptocurrency, and as compensation, the plaintiffs requested $9 billion. However, they suffered defeat in the legal battle as in 2024, the appeals court rejected their complaint.
