Fun fact I unsuccessfully pitched Coinbase on making their own USD stablecoin in late 2016 / early 2017 and wrote up a whole spec for it :P But big subscriber to ideas are cheap and it's all about execution i.e. team that launched USDC obviously crushed it + timing was great

It's kinda wild how short some of the time frames referenced in crypto are. People asking well then why hasn't [x] happened yet then? Um because it takes actual time and work to get there?
