The deputy director of the CIA in the US, Michael Ellis, highlighted the strategic importance of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in the realm of intelligence and national security.
"We use technology as a tool, right? And Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are another tool within our options, but they're also a strategic objective; something we can use to interfere with or disrupt our adversaries' use of them, and we can also use them to gather more intelligence and information," he stated during an interview.
