Breaking down affluent families, the richest 1% (about 1.3 million families) own about $49 trillion, which is about one-third of the total share. Further, about half of this $49 trillion is owned by the wealthiest 0.1% (about 136,000 families).
Additionally, analysis indicates that to be among the top 1% of the wealthiest, family wealth must reach at least $13.7 million. The net worth of the top 0.1% wealthiest families must reach $62 million.
