Trade negotiations between China and the United States will continue this Sunday in Geneva (Switzerland), as expected, confirmed today the state television network CGTN.

So far, the Chinese government has not officially commented on the talks, limiting itself to highlighting its sense of responsibility in agreeing to participate in these meetings and reiterating its opposition to the tariff escalation by the U.S.: "Any attempt to pressure or coerce China simply will not work."

Additionally, the official People's Daily noted this Saturday that while "talking is necessary to resolve differences, it is unrealistic to expect that one or two negotiations will solve the problem," and assured that Beijing has "a clear understanding of the complexity of the negotiations."

The one who has spoken on the matter is U.S. President Donald Trump, who wrote on social media that the meeting this Saturday was "very good" and assured that in it, a "total restart" was negotiated in a "friendly, yet constructive" manner.

"A very good meeting today with China in Switzerland. Many topics were discussed and many agreements were reached. A total restart was negotiated in a friendly, yet constructive manner. For the good of both China and the U.S., we want to see an opening of China to American businesses.!!! THERE HAS BEEN GREAT PROGRESS!!!," he said on his social media, Truth Social.
