Ethereum recently underwent a major upgrade called Pectra, which launched on May 7, 2025. This update merges proposals from the previous “Prague” and “Electra” phases and includes 11 improvements, such as increasing the staking limit from 32 to 2,048 ETH per validator and introducing account abstraction to simplify wallet usage.

Following the upgrade, ETH price surged nearly 30% to around $2,400—its biggest two-day gain since 2019. This spike was driven by increased whale activity, with over 200,000 ETH accumulated in just a week.

Analysts predict Ethereum could reach $12,000 by the end of 2025, fueled by institutional interest and DeFi growth.
