The government of Bhutan is the first in the world to implement a crypto payment system in the tourism sector. In this case, Bhutan accepts crypto assets such as Bitcoin $BTC , Ethereum $ETH , and Binance Coin $BNB .
This step is to enhance Bhutan's tourism sector and make it easier for tourists to transact without using local currency. In addition, this is a manifestation of seriousness towards digital asset innovation.
Furthermore, Bhutan's Director of the Department of Tourism, Damcho Rinzin, stated that this step is an expansion of the use of crypto assets for payments.
It is known that tourists can make payments for plane tickets, tourist visas, hotel bookings, entrance tickets to tourist attractions, purchase local crafts, and even buy goods from street vendors using crypto.
