$800M in Shorts Liquidated as ETH, ADA, DOGE Explode — Biggest Squeeze Since 2023
What a wild ride! In the last 24 hours, we witnessed over $800 million in short liquidations, the biggest single-day wipeout for bears since 2023. The move was led by Ethereum (ETH), which pumped 20%, breaking through the $2K level like it was nothing.
But it didn’t stop there…
DOGE and Cardano (ADA) followed with 10%+ gains, while $SOL , $BNB , and $XRP climbed 7% or more. The whole market felt electric — fueled by bullish momentum, FOMO, and news of a U.S.–U.K. trade agreement boosting sentiment.
According to CoinGlass:
84% of liquidations were short positions
Binance and OKX alone saw $500M+ in liquidations
ETH shorts lost $310M, BTC shorts $375M
This wasn’t just a price spike — it was a massive short squeeze, likely fueled by a crowded bearish setup and low volatility leading up to it. ETH had been rangebound for weeks, but its Pectra upgrade may have finally reignited confidence.
I’m watching closely to see if this is the beginning of a true breakout — or just another epic squeeze before a pullback.
Either way… Bears got wrecked.
