The Ethereum network ($ETH) is about to implement a significant upgrade: a 66% increase in its gas limit, rising from 36 million to 60 million units. This change aims to improve the efficiency of the network, allowing more transactions to be processed per block and reducing fees on the base layer.

Ethereum's lead developer, Parithosh Jayanthi, confirmed that tests on the Sepolia and Holesky test networks were successful, and that the implementation on the mainnet will take place soon.
