#StripeStablecoinAccounts Stripe reintroduces payments with cryptocurrency, allowing merchants in the US to accept stablecoins, such as USDC and USDP, through the Ethereum, Solana, and Polygon blockchains. On the first day, more than 70 countries are using this feature, highlighting the global demand for alternative payment methods. Transactions are converted to US dollars and stored in the Stripe wallet with a fee of 1.5% — lower than traditional card processing fees. This move follows Stripe's acquisition of Bridge for 1.1 billion dollars, a stablecoin infrastructure platform, which strengthens its cryptocurrency capabilities. By integrating payments in stablecoins, Stripe aims to offer a faster and more economical solution for global trade.
