$TRUMP
The White House announced that U.S. President Donald Trump will undertake a tour of the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, from May 13 to 16, 2025, during his second foreign visit since the beginning of his second term.
The visit aims to strengthen economic and security relations with Gulf countries, especially amidst regional tensions related to Iran, the Houthis in Yemen, and the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.
Trump is expected to announce during the visit an official change in the designation of "Persian Gulf" to "Arabian Gulf" in official U.S. speech, which has drawn objections from Iran.
The visit also includes meetings with leaders of the three countries to discuss regional and international issues, including cooperation in the fields of energy, technology, and economy.
This tour comes at a time when Trump is seeking to enhance U.S. influence in the region, amid increasing political and economic challenges.
