⚙️ Ethereum officially upgrades to Pectra – Increase staking limit, improve network performance

On May 7, 2025, Ethereum activated the Pectra upgrade, marking the most significant technical milestone since The Merge (2022).

Highlights:

• Increase staking limit:
  
  Validators can now stake a maximum of 2.048$ETH (previously 32 ETH), helping staking services like Lido or Rocket Pool operate more efficiently.

• Improved network performance:
  
  Pectra includes 11 EIPs (Ethereum Improvement Proposals), enhancing processing speed and reducing congestion – particularly beneficial for Layer 2 solutions like Arbitrum and Optimism.

• The upgrade is seen as a solid stepping stone for the next major updates like Fusaka, where Ethereum will implement Verkle Tree technology and PeerDAS for scaling.
