Satoshi Nakamoto – the person (or group) who created Bitcoin, is currently believed to hold about 1.1 million BTC, worth over 100 billion USD.
But since 2009, not a single BTC from his wallet has been sold. No signs of movement.
Why has he never sold?
• For ideals? – Bitcoin is a decentralized system, if the creator sells, the price could collapse.
• For principle? – He doesn’t want to manipulate the system he created.
• Or has he lost the private key? – And can never access that wallet again.
No one knows for sure. And that is the legend.
What would happen if Satoshi sells BTC?
• The market will panic – because of the massive volume.
• Trust in Bitcoin may be temporarily shaken.
• The price of BTC may drop sharply in the short term, but the market will recover if the ecosystem remains strong.
What about me?
I lean towards the possibility that Satoshi has forgotten the wallet.
Because everyone eventually runs out of money, also wants to spend money, especially with such a huge amount of BTC.
If it could be withdrawn, at least part of it has definitely been used.
Anyway, that absolute silence is the foundation for trust in Bitcoin.
