Trump aims to sign two bills on stablecoins by August, officials say

U.S. President Donald Trump delivered a speech at the Digital Assets Summit held at the White House on March 7, 2025, in Washington, D.C. U.S. administration officials stated during a blockchain summit held on Wednesday that Trump hopes to sign legislation regarding stablecoins before the August holiday.

Both bills establish a regulatory framework for the issuance and trading of dollar-backed stablecoins.

President Donald Trump hopes to sign two bills supporting stablecoin legislation in the United States - the House of Representatives STABLE Act and the Senate GENIUS Act - before Congress goes on recess in August, according to administration officials who spoke on Wednesday during the 2025 DC Blockchain Summit.

Bo Hines, the Executive Director of the Presidential Advisory Council on Digital Assets at the White House, and Tyler Williams, the Treasury Secretary's Digital Assets Advisor at the Department of the Treasury, discussed the administration's plans to create a pro-digital asset regulatory environment.

Hines said, "We want to make the United States the cryptocurrency capital of the world. This means providing a pathway for innovation here and creating a regulatory environment as favorable as possible."
