On May 22, 2010, an American programmer named Laszlo Hanyecz bought two pizzas for 10,000 Bitcoins.

Laszlo posted on the BitcoinTalk forum that he was willing to pay Bitcoins for anyone who would deliver him pizza... And indeed, someone agreed and delivered him pizza from Papa John's.
But today, if we calculate the value of those Bitcoins at the current market price, it would be worth more than $600 million!!
Since then, May 22 has been globally recognized as "Bitcoin Pizza Day," as a commemoration of the first real purchase using Bitcoin.
