The European Union officially adopted the Anti-Money Laundering Regulation (AMLR) to strengthen oversight of cryptocurrencies. The new rules prohibit anonymous crypto wallets and privacy coins such as Monero, Zcash, and Dash. Starting in 2027, all crypto transactions over 1000 euros will require identity verification, and a new anti-money laundering body will oversee large platforms.
