#EUPrivacyCoinBan — the end of anonymity in crypto?

The European Union has officially approved a ban on trading and using private cryptocurrencies such as Monero (XMR), Zcash (ZEC), and Dash (DASH) as part of strengthened measures against money laundering. The new rules will come into effect starting in 2026.

This decision is already raising concerns among supporters of decentralization and privacy. Pressure is expected on exchanges to delist these coins. At the same time, interest in DeFi solutions and zk-SNARKs technology outside of the EU jurisdiction may increase.
