#EUPrivacyCoinBan

The EU will ban anonymous crypto accounts and privacy coins like Monero and Zcash starting July 1, 2027, under new Anti-Money Laundering Regulations. This aims to combat illicit activities by increasing transaction transparency. Crypto service providers will be prohibited from handling these coins and must implement stricter KYC. Transactions over €1,000 will require identity checks. This move, part of broader EU crypto regulation (MiCA), has already impacted privacy coin prices and trading volumes. A new EU authority (AMLA) will oversee larger crypto businesses.
