#AppleCryptoUpdate

Apple has not approved the direct use of cryptocurrencies for in-app purchases on the App Store. Despite recent buzz, the actual update is more nuanced:

NFT Support Expanded: Apps can now offer services like minting, listing, and transferring NFTs—but only through Apple’s in-app purchase system. NFT ownership can't unlock app features or bonuses unless purchased via Apple.

Crypto Exchange Access Allowed: Apps may facilitate crypto transactions—but only through licensed exchanges and only in regions where they are legally permitted.

Still No Crypto Payments for App Features: Apps are still banned from using crypto or wallets to unlock content or bypass Apple’s payment system.

Bottom line: Apple isn’t opening the floodgates to crypto. It’s reinforcing control while allowing limited crypto functionality—under strict terms.
