California Governor Newsom says 'California is not America', is this the starting point for the 2028 campaign?

California's GDP reached $4.2 trillion in 2024, surpassing Japan for the first time, becoming the fourth largest economy in the world. Governor Newsom has been relatively pro-China, visiting China after the pandemic ended in 2023, signing cooperation memorandums with several Chinese cities, and praising China.

Recently, Newsom stated that Trump’s tariff policy has already impacted California’s economy, and California hopes to embrace the world, saying 'California is not the United States of America'; California welcomes Chinese investment and goods.

He also mentioned that California is 2,000 miles from Washington, saying, 'I represent the state that is the least welcoming of Trump’s policies.'

Trump cannot run for president again in 2028, and his likely successor following his path is Vance, who also adheres to a white conservative agenda, relying on support from older white farmers in the Midwest.

On the Democratic side, there is a need for a strong, charismatic, young successor to compete and give life to America.

Newsom fits this description. The key is whether he can gain recognition from Democratic donors and even national donors, and whether he can be pushed forward as a representative by the Democratic Party's bigwigs. If so, he is likely to be the victor of the 2028 election.
