Apple Pay now accepts cryptocurrency — Mesh launches integration with stablecoins
The payment platform Mesh introduced an integration with Apple Pay, allowing purchases to be paid for with cryptocurrency directly through the iPhone. The announcement was made during a live demonstration at the Token2049 conference in Dubai. Mesh CEO Bam Azizi spoke in person.
The integration is set for public release in the second quarter of 2025. The main goal is to simplify the acceptance of crypto payments without the need to build one's own blockchain infrastructure.
Payment in BTC, receipt in USDC
Mesh allows buyers to pay via Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and other assets, while sellers receive stablecoins USDC, USDT, or PYUSD.
The system operates on the basis of SmartFunding — Mesh's proprietary technology that ensures stability of settlements for sellers and flexibility for buyers.
Apple Pay + crypto = convenience
The integration utilizes Apple Pay's NFC, allowing for cryptocurrency payments in regular stores. Everything works like with a regular card: the buyer selects the asset, confirms with Face ID, and completes the transaction in seconds.
