$BTC According to the Cambridge Digital Mining Industry Report 2025, which challenges the common environmental criticisms of Bitcoin mining, it isn't harmful to the environment. The report, based on primary data from 49 mining companies across 16 countries, indicates that Bitcoin mining is more efficient, sustainable, and environmentally friendly than previously believed.

The study found that Bitcoin mining consumes about 0.54% of the world's electricity and produces approximately 0.08% of global CO₂ emissions. Furthermore, the electricity used by mining companies is 52.4% sustainable, with a significant contribution from hydropower, wind, and nuclear energy. Bitcoin mining is also flexible, allowing it to support renewable energy by using surplus energy and quickly reducing consumption when needed. The industry is also making strides in reducing electronic waste through recycling and reuse of hardware. #Write2Earn
