CIA: Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are permanent

CIA Vice President Michael Ellis emphasized that Bitcoin is permanent and stated that the idea that "Crypto is only for those who have something to hide" is wrong.

US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Vice President Michael Ellis made important statements about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. In an interview with crypto entrepreneur Anthony Pompliano, Ellis said that Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies will be permanent.

In the episode where the anonymity of cryptocurrencies is discussed, Ellis said, “People may think Bitcoin is anonymous, but I would call it semi-anonymous. It's not exactly anonymous. There are numerous studies we do with law enforcement to track illegal crypto payments of bad actors. Whether it's drug cartels, terrorist groups or illegal regimes, bad actors use cryptocurrencies, but they also use cartridges for dollars, cars, and printers. That doesn't mean we should ban them all. Bitcoin is permanent, cryptocurrencies are permanent. As you know, more and more institutions are adopting them and I think this is a great trend, and I think this management stands out in this regard." said.

“We have to break the molds”

The Deputy Director of the CIA added that the US should be a pioneer in the crypto space and should not be left behind. Stating that some of them are stuck in old thought patterns, Ellis said, "We need to break these patterns. The idea that 'crypto is only for people who have something to hide' is absolutely not true," he said.
