Although the blackout affected a small region of Europe, the situation led many to question the use of Bitcoin in a scenario without power.

Raiam Santos, a digital influencer, believes that Bitcoin is useless during times of crisis. Directly from Barcelona, which experienced a blackout on Monday (28), Raiam reported how his day went without electricity and internet.
In summary, his opinion is that people should prefer cash and firearms.
"What I want to share with you today is what I learned from being a day without electricity," Raiam began, noting that his hotel had electricity and internet, being a coveted place by others.
"Raiam's conclusions:
1) Your money in the bank is useless
2) More important than money in the account is cash and a weapon
3) Gas stove, economical combustion car, own generator"
Raiam Santos talks about his experience of the blackout in Europe
Called a sociologist by his followers, Raiam Santos published a video on Tuesday (29) recounting his experience during the blackout in Europe.
"This data I shared with you makes me believe that Bitcoin is useless."
"But the guy says: 'Oh, no, you can have Bitcoin over the radio, self-custody', man, it's all nonsense, all nonsense," commented Raiam. "You're talking crap, like, you're out of touch with reality and you've fallen for Renato Trezoitão's rhetoric."
Explaining his point of view, Raiam notes that "the adoption of Bitcoin as the currency for cataclysms, for the bad times of humanity," is merely a dream.
"Yesterday, during the chaos here, you wouldn't be able to buy anything with Bitcoin, even if you had 40 bitcoins you wouldn't be able to do anything. But, if you had cash, your life would be better than that of others."
Another point raised by Raiam was the carrying of weapons.
"Another two or three days, it would turn into a generalized chaos," he argued. "A weapon is for self-defense, because if you have your phone in hand, or you look like a fool, someone will come and try to take what's yours."
His points are the same as Avelino Morganti's. Also this week, the Brazilian Bitcoin critic pointed out that it would be better to stock food and ammunition than Bitcoin in a moment of power shortage or another major crisis.
"Just because I lived through yesterday's chaos, I say, Bitcoin is useless," Raiam repeated.

Community reacts to blackout in Europe
In addition to Raiam Santos and Avelino Morganti, many others reacted to the blackout in Europe. While some pointed out that Bitcoin is a dead solution in these cases, others noted that it is possible to make transactions without internet.
"Thank goodness we have Bitcoin to protect us on days without power and internet," said Charles Mendlowicz, the Sincere Economist.

In the comments, several followers agreed with Charles. However, others pointed out that it is possible to make transactions through radio waves or even using Morse code.
