Baku Meetup: the first step of Binance towards the development of the crypto community in Azerbaijan
Today, the first official event of the global cryptocurrency platform Binance - Baku Meetup - is taking place in the capital of Azerbaijan, gathering representatives of the crypto industry, enthusiasts, and opinion leaders from different countries.
The meeting was an important step for the development of the local crypto community and the popularization of blockchain technologies in the region.
Among the speakers at Baku Meetup are Kirill Khomyakov, regional head of Binance for Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), Central Asia, and Africa, Alexey Makarov, head of marketing and operations in the CIS and CEE, Daria Golynskaya, marketing head in the CIS and Ukraine, and many others.
One of the key topics of the event was the discussion of cryptocurrency market regulation. Speakers discuss why it is important to build a joint crypto ecosystem between states and global players, and they also reviewed Binance's experience in interacting with government bodies of different countries. The issue of regulation in Azerbaijan and the need to build trust between regulators and technology companies for the further growth of the crypto sector was also touched upon.
Special attention is given to Binance's educational initiatives. Company representatives talked about the Binance Academy project and the launch of a crypto school in Azerbaijan. The topic of security in the crypto world will also be discussed at the event.
In an exclusive comment, the regional head of Binance, Kirill Khomyakov, shared his thoughts on the significance of such meetings:
"In all the countries we cooperate with, we periodically hold community meetups. This is an opportunity for us, our Binance team, to communicate directly with our users, answer all their questions. This serves the main goal of dual communication. First, we tell what is new, what interesting is happening, what figures we have achieved, what is happening in the market, what new products are being released, and what innovations are occurring in the industry as a whole.
But most importantly, we spend a lot of time on informal communication with our users over a cup of coffee, and we also answer all questions. We want to know what our users need, what worries them, what problems they have, and what products they would like to see in the local market. This is the success of Binance. Despite having 250 million clients already, we work just as we did when we had zero.
We want to hear every user so that you help us become better for each local market. Therefore, Azerbaijan is a very important market for us. And I am glad that today we have practically the entire marketing team with us, some of our partners, a lot of media, and journalists. Most importantly, many guests, our users, have come. So the point is to communicate, share. And we will strive to do different formats. The more often, the better. Big, small meetings, Binance or jointly with someone. This is very important for us.
This event was Binance's first official appearance in Azerbaijan and symbolizes the growing interest in digital assets in the region. Organizers emphasize the importance of local interaction and intend to continue working to strengthen the connection between the global crypto ecosystem and the Azerbaijani market.
