#ArizonaBTCReserve The Arizona legislature has moved forward, through a mostly partisan vote, to approve a bill in both chambers to establish a virtual asset reserve.
Several other states have introduced similar bills this year, but none have yet reached the finish line.
The matter now depends on the approval of Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs, who recently took a stance to veto any legislation until a separate funding issue for voters with disabilities was resolved, but signed a bill on that issue last week.
Arizona has blazed new trails in what has been a race among U.S. states to see which can be the first to establish a Crypto reserve as a formal part of its fiscal strategy, gaining approval of the legislation with majority support from Republican lawmakers.
It is unclear whether Governor Katie Hobbs, a Democrat, will look favorably upon legislation that was rejected by most Democratic lawmakers. She has vetoed a long list of bills in this session, and if she vetoes this one as well, the matter will be closed for this year.
