The desire to find stereotypical figures is that very human weakness that convinces people that superstitions, astrology, or fortune-telling are quite reliable and legitimate things. Success makes a much greater impression than failure. You remember those cases when the fortune teller hit the mark and strive to forget the cases in which the prediction was vague or incorrect.
