On April 27 local time, Illinois Democratic Governor Pritzker called for massive protests against the Trump administration. Trump's son, Donald Trump Jr., retweeted Pritzker's speech video on the platform X on the 28th, criticizing, "Are you trying to incite a third assassination attempt on my dad? Two times isn't enough?"
According to the U.S. (The Hill) report, on April 27 local time, Pritzker delivered a speech at a Democratic fundraising dinner in New Hampshire, calling for massive protests against the Trump administration and harshly criticizing the "inactive Democrats" for failing to mount a stronger opposition to the Republicans.
"I have never called for massive protests, mobilizations, and disruptions of social order in my life, but I am calling for it now," Pritzker stated, "These Republicans cannot have a moment of peace; they must understand that we will use all our loudspeakers and microphones to fight back against their cruel actions."
He added, "We must harshly criticize them from the podium and then punish them at the ballot box."
Pritzker also criticized some members within the Democratic Party for listening to political experts rather than ordinary Americans, stating they "rush to podcasts and cable news programs, condemning their Democratic colleagues for not caring enough about the plight of working families."
Pritzker said, "Those inactive Democrats want to blame our failures on our defense of Black people, transgender children, and immigrants, rather than their own lack of courage and guts."
"We will never fall into the specific hell reserved for traitors and cowards like many Republicans do. We will place their portraits in the museum gallery reserved for tyrants and traitors," Pritzker said.
