The Arizona legislature has passed the groundbreaking "Arizona Bitcoin Reserve Bill" (SB1025), making it the first U.S. state to establish a Bitcoin reserve. The bill permits the state treasurer and retirement systems to invest up to 10% of available funds in digital assets, primarily Bitcoin. This strategic move aims to diversify state assets and hedge against inflation, positioning Arizona as a national leader in cryptocurrency adoption. The legislation now awaits Governor Katie Hobbs' approval before becoming law. Alongside SB1025, a companion bill (SB1373) was also passed to create a broader digital asset reserve.
