A latest poll released last Friday shows that only 35% of respondents approve of Musk's management performance of the 'Department of Government Efficiency' (DOGE), while as many as 57% hold a negative view, an increase from the 49% negative ratings in February. The proportion of people supporting Musk has remained stable at around 34% over the past two months. In contrast, former President Trump's approval rating in polls is at 39%, with an opposition rate of 55%, but still higher than Musk's.

It is noteworthy that after Tesla's poor performance in the Q1 2025 financial report, Musk announced a shift in focus towards the company's operations. However, polls simultaneously show that nearly 60% of respondents believe the policy of 'reducing the federal government size through layoffs' promoted by Trump is too aggressive, and the controversy continues to simmer.
