These three scam methods can leave you without cryptocurrencies.

Be very careful new user!

PHISHING: "THE FAKE BINANCE APP" THAT EMPTIES YOUR WALLET

It works as follows:

  1. You receive an urgent email/SMS: "Your account will be suspended! Verify it HERE". (Binance does not use this method)

  2. The link takes you to a website identical to Binance (but fake) and this is where you need to verify the URL.

  3. If you enter your data: Goodbye funds! (This only happens to new and inexperienced users).

Easy ways to avoid it:

  • Never enter suspicious links.

  • Verify the official URL (binance.com).

  • Use 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication, security keys, SMS, among others).

Cybercrime technique that uses deception to obtain personal information, such as passwords and banking data, from victims.

FAKE AIRDROPS: "FREE TOKENS" THAT STEAL YOUR KEYS

It works as follows:

  1. They offer to connect your wallet so that you can receive free tokens.

  2. Once you "Claim" you leave your digital trace (this is where the scammer profits, draining your funds).

Basic and fundamental principle:

  • If it is "too fast, attractive, good", it is "A Trap".

  • Avoid connecting your wallet on sites you don't know.

Airdrop scams are fraudulent schemes aimed at stealing personal information, private keys, or funds under the pretext of offering free cryptocurrencies.

INFLUENCER SCAMS: "BUY THIS TOKEN THAT IS GOING TO RISE 1000%!"

The pseudo-influencer strategy:

An influencer (or deepfake of tokens) promotes a cryptocurrency before they sell it themselves.

The inexperienced buy, the price rises a little, (this is where the deception is provided and the scammers sell! (The price sinks in the red sea of the ecosystem).

You must protect yourself as follows:

  1. Research, participate in photos, before making any purchase. Who or who are behind the project? These questions should be on your mind.

  2. Don't trust the first one! Read the previous step again.

  3. Listen and read in your environment, if they are already talking about it, it's too late.

  4. The trend on some social networks is the famous BONUS (it was very frequent last year)

  5. Don't help anyone, (it's not that you're a bad person) it's just a method to scam.

  6. You must report and block (Without thinking twice)

These scams can target individuals directly or manipulate their trust, often resulting in financial losses or emotional distress.
