China must open its markets to American goods. Then the US may consider the possibility of lifting tariffs against it. This was stated by American President Donald Trump. Despite the tense situation with the PRC, Washington is engaging in dialogue with many countries, from Asia to Europe, about concluding new trade deals.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will meet with Donald Trump to discuss a trade deal and the lifting of tariffs, said European Commission spokesperson Anuar El-Anouni. Announcing a large-scale introduction of tariffs, Trump announced a 20% tariff on all goods from the EU.

In addition, there is a 25% tariff on European aluminum and steel. Brussels, in response, announced its intention to impose tariffs on a number of food products from the US. Nevertheless, the EU continues to emphasize that the measures are temporary, and their goal is to achieve duty-free trade.
