Chinese officials warn that the tariff battle initiated by the US will fail and that Beijing is "going in the right historical direction" in the trade war.

"We believe that if one side goes against the world and the truth, they will only isolate themselves. Only by walking with the world and adhering to moral principles can we win the future," said Zhao Chenxin, Vice Chairman of China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), at a press conference in Beijing today regarding US-China trade tensions.
