Exchange-traded funds for XRP futures are coming, but the price will drop anyway
The price of XRP has decreased by 0.86% even with the buzz surrounding ProShares' launch of exchange-traded funds for XRP futures on April 30.
These funds do not hold XRP directly, but only futures contracts, swaps, and cash equivalents like treasury bonds.
However, they may boost prices in the short term by giving ordinary investors and litigants a chance to gain exposure to XRP without the need for custody.
Trump's victory and the uncertainty surrounding the Securities and Exchange Commission may open the door for an immediate exchange-traded fund for XRP in 2025 - applications have already been submitted.
But until the SEC's case against Ripple is resolved, the price of XRP remains in limbo. A victory could push its price above $3.
