#BinanceAlphaPoints XRP ETF Update – April 2025
The XRP ETF landscape is evolving quickly, with several major asset managers pursuing the launch of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) offering exposure to XRP.
Leading XRP ETF Filings:
Bitwise: In October 2024, Bitwise filed a registration with the U.S. SEC to launch a spot XRP ETF. The proposed ETF aims to offer direct exposure to XRP, with BNY Mellon as the administrator and Coinbase Custody as the custodian. The SEC acknowledged the filing in February 2025, initiating a review process that could last up to 90 days.
Grayscale: Grayscale Investments has filed to convert its $16.1 million XRP Trust into an ETF, expanding its crypto investment products beyond Bitcoin.
WisdomTree, 21Shares, and Canary Capital: These firms have also submitted applications for spot XRP ETFs, following the precedent set by the approval of Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs earlier in 2024.
Regulatory Landscape:
The SEC's acknowledgment of multiple XRP ETF filings shows growing momentum. However, full regulatory clarity remains a challenge. Although the SEC dropped its appeal in the Ripple lawsuit, the case isn't officially closed, and XRP’s classification as a security is still under review.
Market Impact:
The anticipation of XRP ETF approvals has already impacted the market. XRP’s price surged over 5% to $2.71 in a single day, fueled by optimism around ETF developments.
