What is an XRP ETF?

An ETF (Exchange-Traded Fund) of XRP would allow investors to gain exposure to XRP without needing to directly own the cryptocurrency. This is achieved through a fund that tracks the price of XRP and is traded on traditional exchanges, making it easier for institutional and retail investors to access.

In October 2024, Bitwise Asset Management submitted an application to the SEC to launch an XRP ETF. The SEC formally acknowledged this application in February 2025, initiating the review process.

This proposed ETF would provide investors with a regulated way to invest in XRP, which could enhance the legitimacy and adoption of the cryptocurrency.
