According to The Telegraph, the world in the war between Russia and Ukraine is closer than ever, but it is unlikely to be a victory for Ukraine.
British analyst Richard Kemp notes that Russia has an advantage in a protracted war, and Donald Trump is unlikely to actively intervene in its course. At this stage, in his opinion, concessions from Ukraine seem inevitable.
Despite the courage of Ukrainian soldiers and the growth of the defense industry, Ukraine cannot indefinitely maintain its defense. Kemp believes that the only way out is negotiations — based on Trump's latest proposals or similar initiatives.
The publication also notes that the future of Ukraine and the West looks troubling, and NATO has shown weakness, which Putin had previously warned about. Therefore, it is likely that negotiations will lead to concessions from Ukraine, including the transfer of occupied territories.
