#TariffsPause
For the new tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump in April 2025.
After the tariffs caused significant disruptions in the markets, Trump announced a suspension for 90 days for most countries (except for China, which remained at a tariff of 145%).
The goal of the suspension was to calm the markets and open the door for negotiations with trade partners.
Trump later indicated that another suspension is unlikely, and that the continuation of high tariffs is considered a "complete victory" for boosting domestic manufacturing.
Despite a slight improvement in consumer confidence, economic conditions remain unstable with concerns over financial corruption due to potential leaks of insider information.
