Trump: Tariff Suspension Extension Unlikely

This is important information to be aware of.

U.S. President Donald Trump said it’s not likely that the current suspension of trade tariffs will be extended for another 90 days.

Speaking to reporters on Air Force One, Trump emphasized that tariffs on China will remain in place unless Beijing makes some “major concessions,” according to Bloomberg.

He also mentioned that financial markets are beginning to adjust to his trade policies, and the worries over recent market swings are starting to ease.

When asked about possible compromises from China, Trump said he wants China to open up its economy more — but he’s not sure if they’ll actually follow through.

For now, he’s staying cautious, and any changes will depend on how future negotiations with China go.
