Dollar today reduces decline and closes at R$ 5.71 with a milder tone from Trump!

The dollar today closed the session this Wednesday (23) with a decline of 0.16%, at R$ 5.7190.

The trading session was marked by optimism from global investors, following less aggressive signals from the President of the United States, Donald Trump, regarding tariffs and the country's central bank.

The relief of this Wednesday's session comes after the Republican indicated that the trade tariffs imposed on China should remain below the 145% announced. The Ministry of Commerce of the Asian country also indicated that it wishes to discuss the trade dispute with the US. Earlier in the week, Trump attacked the President of the Federal Reserve (Fed), the US central bank, which led global markets to a greater aversion to risk. Now, the US President denies that he intends to dismiss Jerome Powell from the leadership of the institution.

"Trump's new comments represent some relief in two of the main recent points of tension," highlights Ágora Investimentos in a report. "Here, in light of a more empty economic agenda, external influence should give a more positive tone to our business."
