In metaphysical destiny analysis, there is a saying: destiny is determined by heaven, but fortune is cultivated by oneself. Many people think fortune-telling is about knowing the future, but this is not the case; the true value of destiny analysis is to help us recognize ourselves, resolve attachments, and cultivate the mind.

And the first step of 'cultivating the mind' is to break ego attachment.

What is ego attachment?

Ego attachment is a kind of obsessive 'I am the center' concept, a deep identification with self, emotions, positions, and identities, and an ingrained inertia buried deep within the heart.

When others do not act according to my way, I become angry;

I feel I am right and am unwilling to accept others' opinions;

I invest a lot in the relationship, expecting the other party to respond in the same way...

These attachments to 'I' seem reasonable but often become the root of our emotional suffering.

In destiny analysis, those who are heavily influenced by 'comparison and competition' often have deep ego attachments. They like to argue, compete, and often do so to defend 'I am right.' But destiny has long told us: if fire is strong, know to use water to control it; if wood is abundant, then metal will be cut. Excess is as bad as deficiency; moderation is the way of heaven and earth.

Breaking ego attachment does not mean giving up oneself, but learning to transcend the obsession with 'it must be a certain way.'

For example, a person with a weak destiny may have a strong authority in their birth chart, and they are often suppressed and restricted by external circumstances. If they stubbornly cling to 'I must prove myself,' they may easily fall into a cycle of self-consumption. However, once they begin to go with the flow and leverage opportunities, they can break through in a harmonious way.

Buddhism says: 'Put down the butcher's knife, and become a Buddha on the spot.' Taoism says: 'Great achievement seems incomplete; great abundance seems empty.'

Actually, they are all talking about the same core: the more you let go, the more at ease you become.

Destiny analysis is not to make you more anxious about controlling your life, but to help you see clearly where you should follow, borrow, or let go.

The path of cultivating the mind is to constantly recognize, traverse, and resolve attachments. Destiny analysis is just a tool, while awareness and action are the beginning of transformation.

May you see your true self in the process of understanding your destiny chart. May you let go of one more obsession with each 'understanding.'

Cultivating the mind is an internal feng shui adjustment. True transformation begins with breaking ego attachment.
