#TariffsPause The announced pause applies only to some new tariffs – import taxes – that Donald Trump announced on April 2.

The new minimum tariff rate of 10%, which came into effect on Saturday, April 5, still applies to goods coming from all countries, including the United Kingdom.

There are exceptions for pharmaceuticals, microchips, and some other goods.

But this 10% tariff by itself is a significant change in America's trade relations with all other countries.

And for China, the rate will not decrease at all, but will be raised to 125%, plus an additional 20% related to the fentanyl substance.
