Base rate: From April 10, 2025, a unified basic tariff of 10% on imports from most countries will be introduced.
• Exceptions: China is not subject to the suspension; increased tariffs of up to 145% are imposed on Chinese goods, to which China has responded with retaliatory tariffs of 125% on American goods.
• Duration: The suspension is effective until July 9, 2025. If trade agreements are not reached during this time, the U.S. may impose higher tariffs.
