China Launches World’s First Commercial 10G Internet in Futuristic Xiong’an City

China has officially launched the world’s first commercial 10G internet network, boasting lightning-fast download speeds of nearly 10 Gigabits per second (Gbps). The groundbreaking service has been rolled out in Xiong’an, a cutting-edge megacity about 70 miles southwest of Beijing in Hebei province.

Developed through a partnership between telecom giant Huawei and state-owned China Unicom, the 10G network reached peak speeds of 9,834 Megabits per second (Mbps), making it the fastest commercially available broadband connection globally. While countries like the UAE and Qatar have achieved similar speeds in trials, China’s offering is the first to be widely accessible to consumers.
