Ethereum Under Fire: Debate Sparks Over Long-Term Viability

#EthereumFuture #CryptoDebate

The crypto world is buzzing after Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson reignited controversy by questioning Ethereum’s long-term future. In his latest AMA, Hoskinson claimed Ethereum may not survive the next 10 to 15 years, citing deep-rooted architectural issues.

From a flawed consensus model to a broken accounting system, he didn’t hold back. He also criticized Ethereum’s reliance on Layer 2s, calling them "parasites" that siphon off value instead of strengthening the base network.

His boldest comparison? Ethereum is becoming the MySpace of crypto — a platform that might be big now but destined for obsolescence.

Naturally, the Ethereum community pushed back. Developers and leaders were quick to defend its relevance, highlighting its massive ecosystem, adoption, and recent transition to proof-of-stake. One developer quipped,

“Criticizing Ethereum is easy. Reaching its scale is not.”

As Ethereum continues to evolve and Cardano pursues its own roadmap, the question remains: Will Ethereum remain the cornerstone of Web3, or will challengers like Cardano eventually overtake it?

Only time — and code — will tell.
