#EthereumFuture Eyes of the Great Update: Gas Limit May Increase Fourfold in Hard Fork Fusaka

On April 25, the $ETH developer community was ablaze with discussions about a bold new proposal. Core developers are considering the possibility of raising the gas limit of the network to 150 million — four times the current limit — due to the upcoming hard fork called Fusaka.

Outlined in Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP) 9678, this move aims to significantly expand the execution capacity of Ethereum's layer 1. If implemented, it could allow blocks to contain a significantly larger number of transactions, reducing congestion and paving the way for more advanced decentralized applications.
