$ETH Eyes of the Great Update: Gas Limit May Increase Fourfold in Hard Fork Fusaka

On April 25, the developer community $ETH ignited a discussion about a bold new proposal. The core developers are considering the possibility of raising the network's gas limit to 150 million — four times the current limit — due to the upcoming hard fork called Fusaka.

Outlined in Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP) 9678, this move aims to significantly expand the execution capacity of Ethereum's layer 1. If implemented, it could allow blocks to contain a considerably larger number of transactions, reducing congestion and paving the way for more advanced decentralized applications.
