Manus Development Team Completes $75 Million Financing at Nearly $500 Million Valuation, Led by Benchmark
Bloomberg reported on Friday, citing informed sources, that Manus AI, the Chinese startup behind, raised $75 million in a financing round led by the American venture capital firm Benchmark.
According to reports, this round of financing also included participation from existing investors, increasing the valuation of the startup fivefold to nearly $500 million. The company, named 'Butterfly Effect', plans to use the funds to expand into markets such as the United States, Japan, and the Middle East.
Manus launched a general AI agent in March this year that can handle tasks such as resume screening, itinerary planning, and stock analysis, attracting widespread attention. The company claims that the agent outperforms OpenAI's recently launched Deep Research tool in multiple metrics.
According to Bloomberg citing Chinese media reports, Manus had previously raised over $10 million from investors including Tencent, Zhen Fund, and HSG.
