The United States was the deliberate economic ally that turned China into the manufacturing power house it is today. We gave favourable trade agreements to China for 30 years and U.S companies moved all their manufacturing there. They are literally the biggest economic alliance the world has ever seen for decades.

The tariff narrative that “China has been ripping us off” is just stupid. China is doing exactly what we partnered with them to do. This is all the theatre. I see it as breaking the competition, and then putting a tax on us, when no competitors exist. Similar to when Walmarts move in and prices everyone out with lower prices , and then raises the price when everyone else is out of business.
